Default Increasing Energy

Hope this is not too much of a noob question but getting more energy seems to be difficult to understand.

I've been able to reach 48 on energy but I see some monks out there with 60 plus when they ping their energy bar.

Other than getting the normal rune drops to increase energy is there another way to do this? If not are there any runes that can be purchased or quested for that have more than just 1 or 2 plus energy?

thanks in advance
Shirly

Rune of Attunements, Radiant Insignias, Insightful Staff Head, Energy +5^50 inscirption or inherent mod, Energy+5^enchant inscription or inherent mod, Focus+axe/spear/sword with +5 energy inscription or inherent mod, several skills. That's everything I could think of.

There are also off-hand items that have +15E/-1E regen, so on a max item, you can get +12E (from the item itself if it's a max one) +15E = 27E. If you also have a wand the has +5E on it, then you have 32E + your armor + your base E.

The -1E regen can be iffy on Monks though (and usually not good period on mesmers, in my experience), whereas eles and necs seem to use thenm without major problems; haven't used one on my rit to now how well it works there.

Those are usually only good as a switchout weapon in an emergency. Energy management (regen)>max energy. Although, it might work on a necro becuase of soul reaping, it still wouldn't be that great, especially with the recent soul reaping nerf. But, yeah I forgot to add that.

Please, keep in mind: Gaining energy during battle>>>>having alot of energy.

I remember back in the old days where everyone farmed Sorrow's Furnace. You would bring some nuker, he wasted all his energy, and then you have to wait 2 minutes for him to regen. Might as well kick the nuker and bring a N/E with the same skills.

I use this on my Necro whrn I am MMing, I sit on 65e if I remember correcty... And with SR the e regen loss is no biggy.

I don't think I would monk with it tho, altho a few Urgoz groups I been in use it... but then I have their E sorted with my BIPing...

Due to how soul reaping operates, you're better off having a large max energy as to waste as little energy from it as possible.

For all other classes though, you should try to maximize your energy gain per second instead of your total energy.

To Shirly :Anything above 50 energy is good on a monk.
It's not the amount of energy you have but how you use it that matters.

I always laugh at those nukers with 100 energy, i play mine with ~70-80 energy.
Sure they have lots of energy but they still don't know how to use it, if the battle last long or you get a second group must of the time they have run out of energy ,while im happily still at more then half energy.

- Wise skill use is your best energy management
- Combination of Prot and Heal is a good energy efficient choice
- Do not use energy armor - being alive is better than having low energy
- Use emergency weaponset. Craft a +15 energy, -1 energy regeneration wand and collect a +15 energy, -1 energy regeneration focus
- Emergency weaponset is for emergency weapon swap and cast only - never stay on this set

I usually sit on 35 energy on my monk.

Max energy is pretty useless. If you have energy problems, try taking an energy management skill like Power Drain, Drain Enchant, Channeling, Signet of Devotion, anything that saves energy really. And try protection prayers.
